Nicey

Your first point is stupid Economics and S&D are not going to me understood better just because you didn't go away.

Maybe a tortured and abused child would make a fantastic child support worker / therapist?

Like I said Stupid!

But your second point is right a large section of teachers should be supported to help your child develop through school but lets not forget that a small number of teachers are arseholes.........Why?

Cos they can be..................probably bullied in school

Probably a waste of time mate as the varieties will probably change by the time she starts.

The worst thing abut school for me is Shakespeare why the fuck do kids learn about that nonsense?

Re: Taking the kids out of school turing term time to go abroad
People seriously think taking a child out of school for like 7-10 days is going to hamper job prospects in the future? Blimey.

We've taken our girl out the last 2 yrs. her attendance was 98%+ at the time, it was after exams, and for 5 of the 7 days she missed the class were playing games and watching videos.

I'd better teach her about the different varieties of happy meals then i suppose!

Good work nicey. Let's not forget the parents that think school is a glorified baby sitting service.

However there should be some sort of regulation on holiday time Mark up. It is rediculous.

Re: Taking the kids out of school turing term time to go abroad
Here is a tip -

Keep your kids in school and not take them on holiday. That way they might learn about economics and understand supply and demand and why holidays are more expensive in the summer.

You might also support the school and it's teachers rather than treat them as the authority figures you detested when you were at school and pass that thinking onto your kids.

Just a thought.

What about the kids who have to sit around lobbing bits of paper at each other while their teacher is having to get these truants back up to speed when they come back?

I didn't finesse my views at all. I said that, to paraphrase, without exception, every teacher I know or have seen on TV is a self-righteous, hypocritical (you can have that one for free), self-interested, cynical, manipulator of children to their own ends. I'm sure there are a few exceptions.

But, by all means, you keep making stuff up in the hope that it will make you look intelligent and right-on.

Re: Taking the kids out of school turing term time to go abroad
Nanny state at its finest! If a parent wants to save a grand on a holiday and take their kids out of school it should be left to them. If they mess up their exams, get shit jobs they can blame the parents. Most parents are sensible about this. It's just a waste of time and money trying to police this.

I know from their posts that neither Mad Dog or Hermit Rd are left wing.

Stomper is a self-righteous, pious left winger and he can definitely have my scorn for free.

No idea about the others. Sec Op sounds like a prat, I'll give him that.

Interesting to see two minions of the nasty right knee jerking into their programmed roles of denigrating anyone who is paid from the public purse. And then finessing their views to naturally exclude posters on here.

'So every teacher is a work shy, incompetent, overpaid raving leftie......except the ones we know.

Glad we've established that.'

I don't think anybody has said that, have they. In fact, I said pretty much the opposite, not that you would let that get in the way of a damn good virtue-signalling opportunity.

No. Or Hermit Rd.

But I am sure you will be honest enough to admit that people like you are in a small minority in the staff room and at conference.

Surf's response is excellent.

But actually I was responding to the typically self-righteous posts of Stomper.
